Company background

Globe Air Austria was founded as Sky Lions in 1997 by Wolf Maria Taborksy at Vienna Airport with the Hungarian Malev Airlines as its first GSA contract. Over the following years it enlarged its portfolio to other major companies. It joined the ECS Group, in 2001, for a multinational partnership and strong strategic position. The same year, Sky Lions opened a branch office in Budapest, Hungary, and later opened further branch offices in Prague, Czech Republic, and Bratislava, Slovakia. Sky Lions changed the company name to Globe Air Cargo (Austria) in 2003.

The services we offer

From the very beginning the intention of Globe Air was to assist on-line and off-line carriers in Vienna in marketing, handling, sales and administration regarding cargo matters.

Its services include

• Road Feeder Service (RFS) Network between all major airports in Austria, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and Great Britain.
• HUB Network for all major Austrian airports (incl. Customs formalities, ULD build/breakdown).
• First GSSA in Austria offering AAMS - Air Automated Manifest System: data entry and transmission of the required information; required advance electronic presentation of cargo information.
• Full electronic shipment booking, tracking, tracing, automatic booking/departure/arrival confirmation, rate confirmation, billing, accounting & reporting through companywide software Cargospot.
